Hello i am a student of Gaming and Animation and i have some few questions regarding the game engine.

I decided to create my final project in advanced java game programming using this engine

but is it possible to create stand alone executable program using this engine?

I am planning to use again this engine in my very final project next month

and is it possible to import other 3d models and other visual effects?

Do i need to learn OpenGL first before i can do complicated stuff in this engine?

Its just that OpenGL is complicated to learn and i didnt wright any code in OpenGL before

I really like this game engine because it is not complicated to learn unlike the other game engines

and the game engine really comes with some nice tutorials.

Hi there, please see my answers below:

Yes, this is a feature that is in development but will be available over the next month or so.  I just need to do a little more testing on it.  Launch4j (http://launch4j.sourceforge.net/) is the technology that will be used for this purpose.

Models can be imported easily as long as they are in OBJ format.  Most 3d modeling software (including blender) exports in OBJ format, so you shouldn't have any problems.  As far as visual effects are concerned, right now you are limited to particle effects.

What kind of complicated stuff do you plan to do?  Can't really answer this without knowing what you want to acheive.

I hope this answer at least some of your questions.  Keep us posted on your progress!

Nice

its nice that it will be available next month since i am loaded with 2 project this month

and my final project before graduating would be started next month making it 3 project in line.

Im worried about the licence by the way can i distribute created games that are made using these

game engine for free and regarding the question about open gl it seems that i can code those complicated

stuff by following your lessons. the lessons are really nice even though i already have some knowledge in java.

i will surely upload my project onced i finished them and i hope more features will be added soon.

thx for the replies

The licensing question is a good one.  I'm actually thinking of relaxing the GPL requirement -- using something like LGPL or GPL with classpath exception.  What this means is that if you simply use the engine's binary, you can redistribute your executable without giving away your own code.
